Vigils Against Violence is a movement
to stand up against the violence of murder in our community. A group
gathers at the site of a homicide
within the Raleigh city limits, to offer prayers, readings, and
reflection. The aim is to reclaim the place of violence and death,
and
to transform it into a place of prayer and hope. Often the victim's
family members or friends are present, so it also becomes a time of
support and a sign that the community cares and remembers. Anyone
is
welcome to participate in the vigils. |
