The
Triangle Interfaith Alliance
Statement of Purposes
August 31, 1998
Vision for the Country
Our country will be a caring, respectful, and safe society; where
every individual and every organization accepts and is guided by the
basic dignity and inherent worth of every person.
Our country will be a society that emphasizes both the strengths of
diversity and the need for unity; where people work together for the
common good.
Our Mission
To offer the people of the United States hope by providing a grassroots,
non-partisan, nationwide, faith based organization where all people
of good will can participate, and:
1. Promote the insight and wisdom of religion as a positive force
in life, and as a reconciling and unifying influence on our society.
2. Unite behind shared beliefs of ethical and moral principles and behavior.
3. Be an influence in shaping the nature of our society by engaging in
public policy discussions.
4. Promote harmony, trust, and understanding among all religions, races,
and groups, and among all people.
Goals and Outcomes Desired
1. While the individual is of primary importance, the community
is also very important. Therefore every person and organization has
a simultaneous moral responsibility:
to improve themselves
to help others improve
to improve the community
to improve the country
2. We support the highest ideals of American democracy. Individual rights
and liberties including freedoms of the press, speech, and religion, must
be maintained.
3. We stand for a way of life that shares beliefs in fundamental human values
including renewal of families, renewal of ethics and morals, truthfulness,
civility, compassion, and empathy.
4. We want to eliminate poverty. Our ultimate desire is for all people to
be self sufficient with dignity and pride.
5. We want to unite our diversity and combine our strengths for the common
good.
6. We want to strengthen our public education system. Opportunities for and
access to proper education and training for every person is vital to build
a moral and ethical society without poverty, crime, hate, and inadequate
knowledge. This must include character and human relationship training as
well as the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to earn a living and
support a family.
7. We want good government. This includes efficiency, effectiveness, fairness,
civility, truthfulness, sensibility, and working together for the common
good.
8. We want to preserve and conserve the beauty and essential elements of
our environment.
